Following on from the Centre Tank Services site we built for the same client, we were commissioned to redesign and redevelop the Castle Pumps website.
The existing site was built on Expression Engine so was in need of upgrading to a new and modern Content Management System, and with the client already familiar with Craft CMS it was an obvious choice to use that for the new Castle Pumps website.
Along with the redevelopment task we were asked to redesign a number of key pages/templates in the site to improve the visual impact of the site along with drawing attention to the main tasks and calls to action the client wanted to highlight to increase enquiries and conversions.
What we did
What we did
The build began with getting the various environments setup and an instance of Craft CMS running onto which we could start building out the various templates and functionality the new site required.
Once the framework of the site was complete we could begin the challenge of importing content from the old site into the new. This is always a difficult phase in any project and sometimes requires a degree of manual intervention but, as they say, this wasn't our first rodeo and with the lessons learnt from other projects it all went relatively smoothly.
Once the site was built and content migrated we moved into a phase of feedback and snag-hunting to catch and fix any bugs until the client was happy to sign-off and we could begin preparing the site for launch.
The launch had some additional complexity in that the site is hosted on external infrastructure rather than our own hosting setup at AWS but on the day it all went well and we're delighted with the new site and are looking forward to building on the relationship we have with the team at Castle Pumps and seeing how the site grows and evolves in the years ahead.
